For more than two decades, CNET editors have pushed, pushed, tested, retested, intentionally abandoned, and even stayed up all night evaluating new products and services that promise to change the way we live and work.
Our new Editors’ Choice badge.
CBS
In 2022, our team of experts found 81 products and services in seven categories that we think are worth celebrating and — most importantly — worth honoring with a CNET Editors’ Choice Award.
From the smartphones, laptops and tablets we use daily to stay in touch, to the routers, monitors and other essential equipment that power our digital ecosystems, we continue to rely on technology to ensure we communicate and collaborate as easily and efficiently as as possible.
We’ve also done extensive research to find the best TVs, Bluetooth speakers, kitchen appliances, robot vacuums, software and online services, including VPNs to keep your data private and language apps, because many of them you are traveling again.
The result of all that work led to our picks for the CNET Editors’ Choice Awards, which we’re honoring this year with a new badge we’ll use to identify those strengths in our reviews, top lists, product comparisons, and other stories on our website.
Our mission, as always, is to help you navigate our ever-changing world, whether you’re looking for premium hardware or more affordable options. And we support these choices with many tips, explainers and practical guides. Note that these products and services were rated in 2022 to help guide you in choosing which gear to add to your life in 2023.
GameSpot’s new Innovation Award badge.
CNET
One other note: in terms of innovation, 2022 has been a modest year overall, with a focus on evolving products to make them better rather than exploding new categories.
Still, we were pleased to find four products that we believe pushed the envelope and deserved another CNET honor: our Innovation Award, which recognizes technology that brings new and remarkable ideas to market. Check out our list below.
We’re pleased to continue CNET’s tradition of awarding products that offer the best combination of performance, design and value. We would also like to know your favorites. Find CNET on your favorite social media channel and let us know what you think.
