Skull Session: A Peach Bowl trailer with incredible vibes, Brian Hartline is B. Rabbit from “8 Mile” and Michigan commemorated a photo of its flagship factory in the state of Ohio

Gray sleeves are back, folks.

These yarns are bea-ufitful. Now please, Ohio State – please, please, please… please – make it part of the permanent uniforms for scarlet jerseys and Grey. The school colors are scarlet and gray, so let’s do it.

I conclude my brief but necessary rant.

Let’s have a good Friday, okay?

FIND A BRICK WALL. On Thursday I came across a trailer for Ohio State’s battle against Georgia in the Peach Bowl created by Buckeye Productions and good graceful, good God, super googly moogly – any other phrases I can use to explain my amazement – it’s phenomenal.

Find a brick wall. You’ll have to go through it as soon as the trailer ends.

The Peach Bowl is in 15 days. An official trailer will be released by the Ohio State Football Media Team one of these days. However, until that trailer is released (and possibly after that), I’ll be watching the Buckeye Productions video on repeat until December 31st.

New Year’s Eve can’t come soon enough.

JIMMY SMITH. As I said at the start of Thursday’s Skull Session, Brian Hartline is an animal, consistently exceeding Buckeye Nation’s already high wide receiver recruiting expectations and adding another five-star wide on Wednesday.

However, what I didn’t say on Thursday was that Hartline is also an amazing troll, something I learned a few hours after the Skully posted yesterday.

Minutes after Hartline snatched Ohio State’s commitment to Chaminade-Madonna Prep’s Jeremiah Smith in Opa Locka, Fla. on Wednesday, a distraught commentator on a Miami (FL) message board was out of him that Hartline could walk into South Florida and snatch Smith wants the 2024 prospect to attend high school in the Hurricanes’ backyard.

The next morning, Hartline had a perfect answer for the Miami commentator, but of course it wasn’t on the message boards. Hartline tweeted her message in the most Twitter way possible: a sub-tweet.

Just an amazing performance from Hartline. First, he gets a five-star receiver from South Florida who was heavily recruited by Miami and his offensive coordinator Josh Gattis – the former Michigan OC who called Ohio State soft in 2021. Second, he won Twitter for the day with an amazing sub-tweet from a saddened Hurricanes fan.

It’s been a great day to be the wide receivers coach at Ohio State University, and maybe it’s even bigger to be a Buckeyes fan because they’ll see a flurry of commitments from top receivers coming to Columbus over the next two years:

That’s what I call an embarrassment of wealth.

It doesn’t get any better than that, folks.

CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE IT. After Michigan’s 45-23 victory over Ohio State in The Game this season, a few Wolverines players ran onto the Horseshoe turf with a corn and a blue flag flapping in the wind. They even planted it on the Scarlet O block at the 50-yard line.

It looked a bit like this:

And now the Michigan Football Program has added footage from that moment at the Schembechler Hall training facility in Ann Arbor. It looks a bit like this:

Look, I know Michigan has won the last two meetings of the rivalry, and I don’t have much room to comment on what the Wolverines are doing these days because of that fact, but it’s kind of funny to me how quickly they put up a mural of their victory at Ohio Stadium and their victory last year in the big house.

It seems that’s what a program is doing after being dominated for two decades. But what do I know? I’m counting the days until November 25, 2023, because I neeeeeee to see the Buckeyes return to the top in The Game. I wouldn’t mind seeing The Rematch in the National Championship either, but that’s just me.

ALL-AMERICAN MEN. Ohio State is the American team. It’s a statement I think most Eleven Warriors readers would agree with, or maybe disagree with. I do not know. I also don’t think that statement would sit too well outside of Buckeye Country.

However, I can comfortably say this: Ohio State has been led by its All-Americans to be one of the best teams in America this year. Here are all the All-American awards the Buckeyes received after the regular season:

  • CJ Stroud: Walter Camp Football Foundation, CBS Sports, AFCA (second team)
  • Marvin Harrison Jr.: AP, Walter Camp Football Foundation, PFF, CBS Sports, The Athletic, Bleacher Report, FWAA, Sporting News, AFCA (first team)
  • Emeka Egbuka: PFF (third team)
  • Paris Johnson Jr.: Walter Camp Football Foundation, The Athletic, Bleacher Report, FWAA, AFCA (first team); CBS Sports, AP (second team); PFF (Honourable Mention)
  • Dawand Jones: PFF and CBS Sports (first team); AP, Sporting News (second team)
  • Luke Wypler: PFF (third team)
  • Tommy Eichenberg: PFF, Bleacher Report (first team); Walter Camp Football Foundation, CBS Sports, FWAA, AP, Sporting News (second team)
  • Ronnie Hickman: PFF, AP (second team)

As for Associated Press All-American honors – and, to be honest, that’s a bit the only The All-American awards that matter to me, I don’t know why and won’t answer questions at this time — the Buckeyes lead the way with five recipients: Harrison, Johnson, Jones, Eichenberg and Hickman.

If Ohio State is to leapfrog Georgia and achieve its goal of winning a national championship, these five Buckeyes and players like CJ Stroud, Miyan Williams, JT Tuimoloau and Zach Harrison, among many others, will need to be at the top of their games.

In fact, everyone will have to be at the top of their game. But I expect these Ohio State players to be at the forefront.

Let’s roll, Buckeye Nation. Bring on the Bulldogs. Ohio against the world.
